This blog started as a place to share some of the lessons I learned about love when I was a 20-year-old art student. While traveling through Europe in the summer of 1963, I had a passionate affair with a married, philandering painting instructor. The experience, which I recounted in my first book, 31 Days: A Memoir of Seduction, impacted my life in profound and sometimes surprising ways.
My novel I Love You Today is set in New York and London during the Mad Men era. Some of the book’s themes resonate with recent headlines about the persistence of gender discrimination and harassment in advertising and media, which I’ve been writing about here.
I’ve also mused on the writing process itself, and while I don’t blog about painting, I invite you to take a look at my work in Galleries.
